Current progress about the arduino project-Music farm

One man band -Arduino design

---“Electronic Band”--- (Initital name )

Group member
Sun Ka Meng Isaac (52693497)
Chan ho lai (52749528)
Or wai yin (53457333)

Objective
Players can create their own VISUAL and MUSIC impact through interaction
Basic Concept
As we thought of that a traditional jacket focus on keep warm, protective or fashion icon. However, we want to abundant the traditional element and daily life or cloth can really create art interaction, visual and sound, rather than keep warm.
Idea:

We do want to create a “Wearing” objects that
• wearing cloth can generate music and light simultaneously
• 2 clothes represent 2 musical instruments, drum and electronic guitar, to create music interaction
• Enhance experience play with music + for propose of differentiation via music interaction

Theme:
For the costume style and the music will use heavy metal, metallic style. In our installation there will be 2 instruments drum and electric guitar.

Target Audience
o Amateur to musical instruments
o Music lovers

My arduino deisgn -Music Farm

Music Farm - Proposal
Name:Chan ho lai ,52749528

Project :Music Farm
Element:Light ,music ,LCD display
We decide to make an installation about music production. The eggs are the main object for people to hit to generate music. Simultaneously , the light inside the egg will turn on and the sound will be emitted. Besides, an LCD electronic screen will demonstrate the words for the instruct the users and giving simple introduction to user.
For the light, we use LED which put inside to each egg to connect the sensor. When people hit one of it, the sensor will sense the collision to turn the light on. If the eggs are not hit, the corresponding light will keep off.
For the sound, we use a buzzer put inside to each egg to generate a sound when people hit one of it. We decide to use the animal sound such as chicken and pig for some of the eggs and the other eggs use ‘D, R, M, F, S, L, T’ as the sound production. It causes people can use the animal sound to make a sound jam.
For the electronic screen, it will show the word ‘Welcome’ and the instruction of the installation.

Capacitive sensing isn't limited to your smartphone. In fact, you can use contact with human skin (or any other conductive surface) to trigger almost any circuit. And the Touch Board from Bare Conductive wants you to combine your DIY spirit with the ability to turn practically any surface into a sensor. At the heart is an Arduino compatible microcontroller (based on the Leonardo) with a few extras baked in, including a Freescale touch sensor connected to 12 electrodes and an audio processor for triggering MIDI sounds or MP3 files. While you can simply trigger the electrodes by touching them or connecting them to any conductive material, such as a wire, the Electric Paint Pen really opens up the input possibilities. It's just like a paint marker, often used for small scale graffiti, except it spits out conductive black ink that can turn a wall, a piece of paper or almost anything else into a trigger. In fact, it's preloaded with a bunch of sample sounds on a microSD card so that you can simply paint a soundboard out of the box.
The Kickstarter startup has already more than quadrupled its target funding, but there's still a few days left to get in on the fun. For £45 you can get a Touch Board (with microSD card), an Electric Paint Pen and your choice of either a micro USB cable or a rechargable lithium battery for your untethered projects. And, since its pin compatible with most Arduino shields, you can add even more capabilities to the Touch Board for more complex projects. For example, pop on a relay switch shield, like the one included in the £100 light switch kit, and you can turn your lights on and off or tackle any other high-voltage project on your wishlist. And, since the Electric Paint can also act as a proximity sensor, you could potentially build a dimmer that brightens the room as you bring your hand closer to the wall. For the requisite sales pitch and demo, check out the video after the break.

Personal Feedback:

The main idea is that this product design will not limited by some of the technology , for example some hardware specification or opearting system .Particularly , i adore the idea of using the electric paint pen instead of using the wire,

 Author from Nama Instrument.

Idea:The Instrument is a textile interface for movement.

How to touch the very movement of the virtual?
How to bring the intangible tangible?
How to glimpse the liquidity of the real and actual?
Nama is a compositional experience that works with the synesthetic
perception of movement. It deals with the intersection among design,
art, and technology, seeking ways to sensitize an immanent virtuality
in order to produce positive affects to a person's unique creative pulse.
Empty of objective representations, it aims to bring to surface the own
subjective feelings of whoever access it through a liquid experience.
"A fragment of life, reminiscences of places, people, past and present, exchanged words, an atmosphere of smells, colors, tastes, sounds: a fragile tissue that tends
to dematerialize if we get too close and whose
consistency is only fluidness itself".1

Comment :This interactive idea with the textile and the instrment is new .

Interactive Gaming Design with an Arduino

By

From the website :http://makezine.com/2008/12/21/arduino-accelerometer-papervision3d/

We convinced that this design is quite good for gaming design
-like enhacing the level of interactive
-user can have the first hand control
-real time response
-good for product design , gaining more business by creating the input devices like the doll
